The community of South Park, has been affected by the closure of the 14th Avenue bridge (not slated to be rebuilt for two more years). But that didn't stop Kathy Kershaw and her sister from creating the 1st Annual "Bark for South Park" event this weekend . This hard-working duo has put together some of the region's best dog-related vendors to display their wares and services so that in the not too distant future this town will have their own permanent dog park.

The event will be held in the parking lot of Discount Foods (14th Ave. S and Dallas Ave. S.) from 11:00 am to about 4:00 pm. Of course, Mac's Macaroons will be there handing out drool-inducing home-baked treats (hand-made in Port Townsend,Wa.) This weeks' flavors will be: Liver Bits O' Love, Peanut Butter Hearts, Sweet Potato Bones, Cheese Yummies, and Pizza Delights .

We are also giving out a free "All About Me" refrigerator magnet with each purchase!

So come on out (rain or shine) and bring that good ol' pooch of yours to be a part of assisting a hard hit economy do something wonderful for dogs.
